III.               Reports:
a.       Speaker of the Senate
                                                               i.      Good news on Shirts - talked to logo guy.  got the ok on using the gonzaga logo and student senate logo on the shirts.
                                                             ii.      College Letters - Prepared
                                                            iii.      Update on Josh Blue - Tickets selling like hotcakes.  1699 tickets sold.  Revenues close to $30,000.  Volunteers will be requested next week.
b.      President – Ben Folger - Two new positions:  weekend wonders chair & collidiscope chair - they've been invited to join gsba.  Consider editting the bi-laws.
                                                    Career Center Task Force:  We want student's input for change.  We want to create a task force to address this.
                                                    Growth plan: Father Spitser offered to do a forum to recieve student feedback.
                                                    Sign-up sheets will be available to volunteer for these activities.
c.       Advisor –Fr. Steve Hess - Advice:  LIla and the health center: Reminds all of us to do our homework.  Think ideas through before presenting a bill.  Talk to the people that are invovled.  Challenge:  Student life looks at you all as a pulse and Father Hess encourages you to help.  i.e.Green space availability and usage or using zag bucks for books (ask the students).  Be the voice of the students.  Student Center has an anonymous donor, but funds are still pending.  Next spring, parking garage construction will being; it must be done before the student center construction undergoes.  In effect, we will need more student housing.  Parking garage will be located behind Madonna.
IV.              Committee Reports
a.       Committee on Governance - Issues from the Senate Palooza:  Clubs rules towards community service.  Security issues; research being conducted.  Security numbers are striking around alcohol; brainstorming here.  Positions are being delegate to this group.  saturday, october 20th noon - Constitution review.  all senate welcome to the green room.
b.      Committee on Student Affairs- Movie rentals in crosby?  Smoking is becoming a bigger issue:  tobacco awareness.  Recycling bins are being installed in dorms; a bill will be brought up.  Later hours for crosby.  Heath center forum being produced.
c.       Committee on Academics - Enhancing communication between students and advisors.  Researching policy.  Suggestion:  credit requirements need looked at and possibly revised.  i.e. foriegn language credits.
d.      Committee on Finance - Focusing on getting funds to club sports.  Allocating all of the funds.
 
V.                 New Business
 Create a booth for senate once a week? 
 
VI.              General Discussion
a.       Student Forum Questions - october 22nd 5 oclock in spokane room.  Student can come and ask any questions.  mandatory for senators.  think of solid questions to generate ideas.
b.      Bill Ideas - Bill by halloween. 
c.       Committee Award - Going above and beyond.  Finance committe wins!  pizza and root beer for meeting tonight.
d.      GAB Additions - It is a must to go to the students for voting.  25% must vote for it to count.  Two chairs were passed last year.  Free ice skating November 30th; unofficially started.  Major advertising?  Amending bi-laws requires student vote.  Senate is for this.  Collidiscope is basically a mulitcultural chair.
e.       Career Center Task Force - Respect and use the career center.  It is a valuable resource for job searching.
